Its coming down to it! We are in the final stretch of the fantasy football regular season, if you aren’t where you want to be in the standings its time to make a move! If you are where you want to be in the standings now is the time to shed some of that depth for firepower! Bottom line - make some trades and don’t go into the playoffs stagnant. Or even worse don’t miss the playoffs because you were scared to pull the trigger on a deal! We have plenty of bye weeks right now and bye weeks are a perfect opportunity to strike a deal. Getting a ton of questions about Wide receivers this week so lets dive into it!
I answer hundreds of trade questions each week via the Fantasy Life App (join public chat “The Trade Expert”) as well as my website www.tradefantasyfootball.com and a few names keep coming up. Lets take a look at some of the most popular names I’ve noticed repeating in my trade analysis this week…
Marvin Jones - Stock Down
He hasn’t scored since week 6 and faces the Vikings this week. The Lions are on a bye next week so after the Vikings shut him down his value should be rock bottom. Jones is still riding his week 3 - 32 point effort as a “top ten fantasy WR” but that one game accounts for nearly half of his scoring! Marvin has been lackluster at best since that week, failing to reach double digit scoring in any contest since then but I’m saying he is a buy! He is not facing any scary defenses after the bye aside from Minnesota in week 12 and his playoff schedule is @ New Orleans, Home vs Chicago and @ NYG. We know he has huge games in him and he should be nice and cheap right now. Add him for the playoff push if you are already in good shape in the standings!
Brandin Cooks - Stock Up
Cooks has been excellent since the bye scoring touchdowns in 3 straight games but the yardage has been down the last two games. There are so many mouths to feed in New Orleans and Cooks only leads the team in targets by 1! He is a useful piece but I feel the peak of his value is right now. He has name recognition but will never be recognized as anything beyond a boom or bust low end wr1 high end wr2. I am selling high on Cooks due to the tendency for New Orleans to spread it around. If you can pair him with a back and flip him for a true WR1 like Mike Evans I’m doing that all day. You don’t want to get stuck in round two of the playoffs and have to start Cooks at Arizona. I think he may have a good game this weekend but there is no telling who is getting the ball with that offense - just ask Mark Ingram.
Ty Montgomery - Stock Weird
Yes, “stock weird” is a value! at least it is in my world. What do you do with Ty Montgomery? He is pretty much the “rb1” in what can be among the leagues most powerful offenses but he’s been sick and we have no clue how Green Bay is going to use him week to week. I’d love to guarantee he’ll have monster usage like he did two weeks ago but we just don’t know. For that reason I’m selling him. Let his weekly ? be someone else problem… a good target for him would be someone like Marvin Jones… just saying!
Alshon Jeffery - Stock up
Alshon scored a touchdown! STOCK UP! No seriously, with Jay Cutler back in the saddle Jeffery showed signs of life. He was second on the team in targets only behind Zach Miller (10 vs 8 targets) We all know how good Jeffery can be and he draws Detroit, Green Bay and NYG in the playoffs. I’d get my hands on him during the current bye week if you can at a decent price! Something like a high RB2 low RB1 could get it done depending on the situation.
