There is no better time than watching your fantasy team dominate week in and week out. One thing that you always have to plan for early is the bye weeks and unfortunately bye weeks start in Week 4. Choosing your bye week plug and plays may seem sketchy at times but you just have to grit your teeth and take the leap. Looking to see match ups to exploit isn’t the easiest but let’s get real, it isn’t rocket science, its football science. So let’s look at some of the Week 4 players that I feel will have productive games and others that I would be steering away from.
Carson Palmer vs. Los Angeles Rams – Must
Blake Bortles vs. Indianapolis Colts – Must
Ben Roethlisberger vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Must
Matt Ryan vs. Carolina Panthers – Bust
Jameis Winston vs. Denver Broncos – Bust
Tyrod Taylor @ New England Patriots – Bust
Key Must: Ben Roethlisberger
So last week was a side of Big Ben that we never hoped to see, you drafted him safely expecting 20 points a week and he puts up a dud against an unexpectedly good Eagles D. Steelers weren’t ready for what was coming, but expect a bounce back game for Ben. Bell is back and facing a Chiefs defense who embarrassed Ryan Fitzpatrick. Great QB’s always comeback with vengeance.
Key Bust: Matt Ryan
As of Week 4 Matt Ryan is the #1 QB in fantasy football…. *sighs* Matt Ryan is the #1 Q…Q… what? Look I’ve always thought Ryan was a good quarterback, but one thing I’ve learned is Matt Ryan is the best QB to sell high on. Carolina got embarrassed last week, but it wasn’t on the defensive side. Last year Ryan only managed one touchdown against the Panthers and with Julio banged up, I see a bust this week.
Matt Forte vs. Seattle Seahawks – Must
Lamar Miller vs. Tennessee Titans – Must
Isaiah Crowell @ Washington Redskins – Must
Carlos Hyde vs. Dallas Cowboys – Bust
Latavius Murray @ Baltimore Ravens – Bust
Frank Gore @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Bust
Key Must: Matt Forte
Hyde just ripped off 2 touchdowns and one hundred yards against the Seahawks in their own home right? Why can’t Forte do the same, we know he’s old but we know he isn’t dead and the fact is the Jets need him more than he needs them. Forte averaging over 20 touches running and catching the ball, he will be involved in need to win situation.
Key Bust: Latavius Murray
Latavius has been deceiving. Not getting many carries but making the most of them. Scored a td every game the first three weeks owners will not shy from starting him, but if you got options I’d shy away from it. The workload isn’t there and the Raiders defense is soft. Even for Baltimore I’m putting Murray on notice this week. Baltimore shut down the Jags poor running game last week but I think this game will be played through the air. Oh and by the way, Deandre Washington is creeping up.
T. Benjamin & T. Williams vs. New Orleans Saints – Must
Cardinal’s WR Corp vs. Los Angeles Rams – Must
Jeremy Maclin @ Pittsburgh Steelers – Must
Amari Cooper @ Baltimore Ravens – Bust
Mike Evans vs. Denver Broncos – Bust
Sterling Shepard - Bust
Key Must: Cardinal’s WR Corp
So someone tell Carson Palmer how to play QB, I mean really. He’s hurting the value of 2 good wide receivers in John Brown and Michael Floyd. A lot of people are down on Palmer this week, call me the contrarian here but I predict this week will be much different against the Rams. The Cardinals have been embarrassed on offense and defense, Bruce Arians isn’t having none of that so make way! Winston just threw for 405 yards and 3 touchdowns last week at home. Be ready!
Key Bust: Sterling Shepard
The fantasy world has been raving about the rookie wide out who’s out performed his star counterpart this far in the season. After seeing what the Vikings defense did to Cam Newton last week, it’s hard for me to believe the Giants are going to be able to get much going early. OBJ should see a solid day because he’s more talented than any corner on their team but Shepard takes a step back this week.
Kyle Rudolph vs. New York Giants – Must
Eric Ebron @ Chicago Bears – Must
Travis Kelce @ Pittsburgh Steelers – Must
Colts TE’s @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Bust
Cameron Brate vs Denver Broncos – Bust
Jacob Tamme vs. Carolina Panthers– Bust
Key Must: Kyle Rudolph
I hope this is the year we’ve been waiting for. Even as a Packers homer I’ve liked the type of tight end Rudolph offers. Bradford targeted him a team high of 10 last week against the Panthers and I can only expect the same against the Giants. Rudolph will soon be an obvious must!
Key Bust: Colt’s TE’s
Doyle or Allen? Which one do you start? Doyle has the jump in the passing game on Allen but against the Jaguars I will shy away. They may not be that great of a defense right now but they’ve been able to keep tight ends in check. Touchdown dependant for sure but I’m looking elsewhere for a TE this week.
