The Pawn Shop: Week 8 Edition

By Jason Donio (@1littleindianjd)

Well, now we are in crunch time. Every addition to the roster becoming more crucial. With the injuries continuing to pile up the inventory becomes that much thinner. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing left in the shop, just means we have to look that much deeper. Maybe you’re looking to add that bye week fill in.  Maybe you want to add a player now just to have them break out in time for that championship run. Whatever your needs are there’s something in the shop for you this week.

Kenny Stills, WR – Miami Dolphins

Stills is known for the big play so there is no reason a player with this type of ceiling should be on the waiver wire for this long. Add that to the chemistry between Matt Moore and Stills and we may have a recipe for success. That prior success along with the upcoming byemaggedon means Stills is a welcome addition to any team looking for WR help. Stills is only 15.5% owned.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR – Pittsburgh Steelers

It seems this rookie is the real deal, with three TD’s in his first 7 games. JuJu has found a role opposite Antonio Brown. The only concern is that he is in concussion protocol following Sunday’s game. With a nice schedule coming in the second half Schuster is a welcome addition for teams looking for that bench player that could break out. JuJu Smith-Schuster is 7.7% owned and could slip through without burning money or waiver spot.

Dion Lewis, RB – New England Patriots

*Barf* I can’t believe I’m writing this. A patriots RB nobody knows whether or not the usage will continue but it appears that right now he is getting the opportunity. That’s what we need our RB’s to have.  The opportunity. While he may not got all the touches he’s getting the majority, and more importantly he’s making the most of them. Look for this trend to continue against the Chargers this week. Lewis is only 20.4% owned and can help any RB needy team.

DeAndre Washington, RB – Oakland Raiders

Following the ejection of Marshawn Lynch, it was Washington that outperformed his backfield counterpart Jalen Richard. While it is reported they are likely to split snaps, I expect Washington to continue to outperform Richard. If you are hit with bye weeks or are looking for a RB to stash, Washington is a welcome addition to any roster. Given that Marshawn has failed to impress, Washington could see an increase even after the return from the one game suspension.

Well folks, those are some my favourite gems this week.  Always remember, who you drop is just as important as who to add.  So stop by the FLAFFL House on all social media and we can help you out with all those decisions. As always: may all you waiver adds turn to gold!
