The Pawn Shop: Week 7 Edition

By Jason Donio (@1littleindianjd)

Another week in the books, and another top player is on the shelf for the rest of the season. Am I the only one cringing when the week starts these days? This season has been like Oprah on her favourite things episode: “You get an injury, you get an injury and you get an injury”. Luckily the pawn shop always has a thing or two laying around the shelves, just got search for them. So let’s see what gems catch our eye this week.

John Brown, WR – Arizona Cardinals

He is looking healthy, and is getting the opportunity. This is the “Smokey” that we had all been waiting to see. Brown has 15 targets in the last three games and has been building momentum since returning from missing two of the first three games of the season. We know he’s explosive and can run a strong route tree. Look for Brown to continue showing well against the Rams. Brown is 47.3% owned but should be rostered in all formats.

Oleans Darkwa, RB – New York Giants

It appears someone can run behind that Giants o-line and that someone is Orleans Darkwa. Darkwa made the most of the opportunity on Sunday night and showed that there may be a little spark left in the Giants’ offence. If Evan Engram can continue to be a reliable passing threat, Darkwa will continue to see room to run. Darkwa is only 4.5% owned.

Eric Decker, WR – Tennessee Titans

It seems like Decker may be finding his groove. If Mariota continues to be forced to spend more time in the pocket, Decker gets a big bump to a weekly starter. Decker saw nine targets on Monday night and only has 1 game this season one game this season where he saw less than five targets. Look for Decker and Mariota to continue to build on the week six showing. Decker is 44% owned and may be available in your league.

Devontae Booker, RB – Denver Broncos

Booker caught four of his six targets for 78 yards and could turn into a viable flex option if he continues to show his prowess in the passing game. While the Broncos were behind in the game against the Giants, it was Booker that was in the hurry up offence. Booker is worthy of a roster stash, especially in PPR formats. While he isn’t a weekly start yet, if things continue he could be a flex play in no time. Booker is only 1.8% owned

Well folks those are some my favourite gems this week.  Always remember, who you drop is just as important as who to add.  So stop by the FLAFFL House on all social media and we can help you out with all those decisions. As always: may all you waiver adds turn to gold!
