The Bengals do a very good job of showing us exactly who they are every chance they get; we just do a bad job of listening. Overall, they have decent talent, but as a team, they’re hugely under performing, with a Quarterback that cannot win the big game, and a coach in Marvin Lewis that just can’t instill discipline. It’s the little things, the attention to detail, that turns a good team into a championship team. In his 14th season as Head Coach, can we honestly say the Bengals are evolving? Sad Fantasy Football result is Jeremy Hill finally goes off and its just pretty stats. But even with that did you notice early in the game how Hill was on a roll, in a rhythm, and then Marvin sat him for 3 series to apparently make sure Gio Bernard got some reps to allow Marvin to check his game strategy box for balancing RB touches? In the process, the momentum changed to the Broncos, for good.
Fitzbeard and Cousins are also showing us just why they were career clipboard specialists until last year. Everyone has special moments, are theirs already in the rear view mirror?
Is it just me or does it seem like Carson Palmer has checked out? Next week, watch him, watch his eyes and watch his demeanor. I’m telling you, the fire is gone.
The Browns lose in such a Browns way, fight all the way back, only to roll over in OT. Moneyball was a good movie, but its bad football.
Hue, why did you take this job man?

So, Houston has Super Bowl hopes and yet goes up to New England and has their high priced, much hyped offense score exactly ZERO points, while the Patriots on a short week with their 3rd string, ROOKIE Quarterback that’s had the job for exactly 4 days puts a beat down on them on national TV. Pretenders are such a waste of time. And OBTW I’d hate to be the Cleveland Browns, you know, more so than usual, in week 5; Brady gonna make a statement to the NFL bosses. I think it’s also safe to say we now understand why Elway didn’t exactly lose his mind when Osweiler left.
This just in off the sports wire, the Vikings go to Carolina sack Cam 8 times, intercept him 3 times, get a safety and a punt return for a TD for a 22-10 victory. El Cajon, Rancho Penasquitos REACTION (for those of you in SoCal I hope I just put a smile on your face by “putting topics on the table”) #leehacksawhamilton
Ummmm Cam, ahhh did you actually look in a mirror and say, yep, nailed it, prior to the post game press conference?
Eagles give Steelers the bird, use Terrible Towel for cage paper
Philadelphia 34 Pittsburgh 3, did Alabama and McNeese State change their names to Eagles and Steelers?? My god this was a college style ass kicking. Nice of you to show up Pittsburgh. Cleveland will forever be on the Eagles Christmas card list….. ”Happy Holidays from the Eagles organization, thanks again for whiffing on Wentz”. And can everyone now give Jim Schwartz some credit for being an excellent D Coordinator please? It’s ok not to be the head coach or CEO or whatever. It’s more important to find out what you’re great at and what makes you happy and do that even if it means you’re “just an assistant”.
Yesterday we lost a very special person, a great man, a father, a businessman, a visionary, and a true legend in Arnold Palmer. He wasn’t just a trailblazer, he defined the trail, traversed the path alone successfully, then came back to lead (and sometimes drag) everyone else along the path he created. He was the Beatles before the Beatles, he was James Bond before Bond; he held court in a room or on a fairway. He could captivate a crowd of thousands with his wit and be a top selling GQ cover boy all with a twinkle in his eye and a heater between his lips. Sorry Elvis, but he was the King.
Being an avid golfer my entire life, you have no idea how amazing it was to meet and talk with Arnold a few years ago at The Masters. Without a doubt he was the nicest, most humble, gracious person I have ever had the privilege of meeting, all while having a sneaky great sense of humor. It is a memory that I will cherish forever.
We are all better for having had him here.
I’ll leave you with one of his most famous quotes:
Golf is deceptively simple
and endlessly complicated
It satisfies the soul
and frustrates the intellect
It is at the same time rewarding
and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented
Rest In Peace Mr. Palmer
Now you’ll have to excuse me, it’s almost 4 o’clock and I’ve got to get out to the curb so I can catch the trolley to the Golden Corral, it’s all you can eat shrimp night.
