Jacksonville Jaguars (2–4) @ Tennessee Titans (3–4) 8:30 PM (Est)
If you had to describe this game using an emoji. Which would you choose? The hysterically laughing one? How about the eye roll, or the exed out eyes half dead one? I know what I’d choose… Its hard to get excited about an AFC South match-up. Oh how the NFL has treated us with this one.. Two of the worst teams in football. To top it off, some of the ugliest color rush jerseys of all time. What a way to kick of the midway point of the season. Lets get through a short preview and get right into the Fantasy implications of this game, because lets be honest. That’s the only reason you’ll be watching this game.
This Thursday will mark the 44th time the Jaguars and the Titans have met. Tennessee is ahead in the series, 24–19–0. The AFC South is still up for grabs. Making this is an absolute must win for both these teams. Both teams are coming off a loss in week 7 and will be looking to turn it around. Anything can happen in divisional match-ups but I fully expect the Titans to come away with the victory. The Titans run game and defense will be the difference.
The Good: Demarco Murray
A year removed from the Chip Kelly experiment. Demarco Murray is proving that his 2014 season in Dallas was no fluke. He’s on pace for over 1885 total yards and 16 touchdowns. He gets another plus match-up week 8 against a Jaguars team that has allowed 5 rushing touchdowns on the year. Murray is a lock for 20–25 touches. Get him in your line.
The Good: Delanie walker
Besides Murray. Walker is the only other Titans player I have any confidence in playing week to week. He leads the team in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Jacksonville has been surprisingly stingy to opposing TEs this season, but Walker is still a top 5 option in my book.
The Bad: Blake Bortles
Bortles has been one of the worst Quarterbacks of the 2016 season. He’s completing less than 60% of his throws. He has just as many turnovers as Touchdowns on the season, and owns the 5th worst QBR in football at 76.4. Not to mention the Titans defense has been decent this year. Holding the likes of Mathew Stafford and Derek Carr to 1 Touchdown. Need I say more? Bortles is a low end QB2 this week.
The Ugly: Allen Hurns
Hurns has been burned by the regression of Bortles this year. After posting a 1000 yard season with 10 touchdown in 2015. Hurns is on pace for less than 800 yards and 3 scores. I don’t see his season turning around against a Titans teams that ranks in the top half against opposing WRs . Hurns is nothing more than a low end WR3 this week.
