Draftkings Outlook: Week 3

Written by Matt Perdichizzi, goes by @cheezi on the Fantasy Life App

Last week, I said I was big on Matt Ryan. I submitted my article early in the week. As the week went on, I listened to too many people and got talked out of playing him. Instead played guys like Eli Manning, Drew Brees, Marcus Mariota. Glad I did that.

The tight ends I recommend for Week 2 were Colby Fleener (my bad), Jacob Tamme and Greg Olsen. So I think that's pretty good.

Like everyone else I thought the Saints-Giants game would pile up points and yards and fantasy goodness, but I was wrong. Very Wrong. My other wide receivers suggestions included Steve Smith Sr. (oops), and the Benjamins: Travis and Kelvin. So that's all well and good.

Running Back was very average with many guys returning value, but nobody who really helped anyone win anything. Hopefully I go with my gut this week block out all the knuckleheads and win some money. I also 'spiced' it up this week with some fun, informative links that will certainly lead you to success this week.

Here's some guys I like this week...

Quarterbacks

Matt Ryan $7,400 @ NO

In 15 career games versus the Saints, Matty Ice may only have 5 wins, but he averages north of 300 passing yards and has 24 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. I expect Matt Ice to stay hot as long as Julio can stay wobbling on the field. Hopefully this game has a bit more scoring than the Giants game. Being that it's in the Superdome, I expect the fantasy goodness we wanted last week to happen here.

Alex Smith $5,800 vs NYJ
Alex Smith? Really? Yes, Alex Smith, really.  After a whopping 5.6 Draftkings performance versus the Texans in Week 2, there no way he'll do anything. Not so fast.... Week 1 Andy Dalton versus Revis Country, 366 yards and a TD thanks to some AJ Green BOMBS. Week 2 Tyrod Taylor threw for 297 yards and 3 TDs thanks to bombs to Salas and Goodwin. Who are those people? Doesn't matter. Smith will throw bombs to guys we don't know and will be a great contrarian play as well as a fantastic cheap option in cash games.

Philip Rivers $6,700 @ IND
Keenan Allen, gone. Danny Woodhead, gone. Say hello to the new and improved Chargers receivers: Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams, and Dontrelle "Willis" Inman, well and Antonio Gates. This Colts defense is likely the worst in the league and the San Diego Chargers have shown that they're capable of scoring in bunches. I see a lot of bunches in this one.

Aaron Rodgers $7,700 vs DET
Through 2 games this season, here are Aaron Rodgers numbers: 412 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception. Maybe that will make his ownership a little lower in tournaments. In Rodgers 14 games versus the Lions, 26 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. And don't forget. Aaron Rodgers, is a bad man... https://youtu.be/80iBFuxcXXw

Running Backs

Charles Sims $4,900 vs LA

If Doug Martin doesn't play, Charles Sims is a cash game lock. I've always wanted to see a full Charles Sims workload and I think it's time he finally gets his chance. The Rams defense is no joke, but at $4,900 getting a full workload it'll be hard for him to not make my cash game lineups.

DeMarco Murray $6,300 vs OAK
Am I missing something? The fourth highest PPR scoring running back is only $6,300. Not to mention Oakland defense has looked like swiss cheese so far. DeMarco likely will be highly owned in tournaments, so he'll be a nice cash play.

Theo Riddick $4,900 @ GB
Bam right there. Your two running backs in cash games. Signs are pointing to Abdullah not playing which means not only will Riddick have his typical pass catching role, he will also get a rushing attempts boost. Dwayne Washington will likely be the goal-line back, but versus the Packers, I expect a ton of passes.

Melvin Gordon $5,800 @ IND
See what I wrote about DeMarco Murray above. (RB7 only 5,800 in a cakewalk matchup.) Gordon and Murray are likely the two safest running backs of the week.

Cameron Artis-Payne $3,000 vs MIN
Well, I have no idea which running back will have more touches, but give me the guy that's $800 less, (Fozzy 'Bear'https://mobile.twitter.com/Fozzie_Bear Whittaker is $3,800). I think they'll probably have the same ownership so my only reasoning behind going Artis-Payne is because he's cheaper. I'd advise making some tournament lineups with Whittaker and some with Artis-Payne.

Wide Receivers

Jamison Crowder $3,800 vs NYG

The $200 million defense that is the New York Giants for whatever reason can't defend the middle of field. Kirk Cousins likes that. Crowder should be able to run circles around the Giants yucky linebackers.

Devante Parker $4,900 vs CLE
Mike Wallace had two touchdowns versus the Cleveland Browns. He had 13 targets last week against a good Patriot defense and managed 8 catches and 106 yards. In a much easier matchup, I gotta think Parker can blow up. Only reason why I haven't said any hot take words is because I expect him to be too highly owned in tournaments.

Allen Robinson $7,500 vs BAL
With just 21.6 points on the season, Robinson is quite the buy-low candidate for season long. Especially before he torches this Baltimore Ravens secondary.  This game should be high scoring and Blake Bortles should be throwing bombs so I think Robinson gets on track here.

Chris Conley $3,100 vs NYJ
This is a complete dart throw. For those of you who don't know who he is, here's what the internet says... He's a second year wide out, was a third round pick, born in Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, and chiefs.com wrote an article about him... http://m.chiefs.com/news/article-5/10-Things-to-Know-about-Chiefs-WR-Chris-Conley/4de46bf9-6987-471e-8c39-28df81a6ee64 When he blows up this week, I want to be that .1% that has him.

Tight Ends

Jesse James $3,500 @ PHI

According to Draftkings, the Eagles have the best defense against Tight Ends. I ain't buying it. The reason why he's number one on my tight end list is because well he's the ROAD DOGG. As I'm writing this I am watching a 1999 PPV with him so I feel that makes him worthy of the top spot.https://youtu.be/dNGEE5kufD4

Jordan Reed $6,500 @ NYG
This is a trap game for the New York Giants. I got a bad feeling, as a Giants fan, that the Redskins just go all "You Like That" on the Giants and Jordan Reed is a big beneficiary of this.

Larry 'Big Doof' Donnell $2,700 vs WAS
So I'm a nervous Giants. I said I liked Reed and I liked Crowder. I also wouldn't be shocked if this happens...https://www.thestar.com/sports/football/2014/09/25/eli_manning_larry_donnell_connect_for_three_tds_in_giants_rout_of_redskins.html Good times man good times.

DEFENSES!!
I've just been ignoring this position and I'm not quite sure why. Anyways, I like using defenses on Thursdays in cash games, so I like both Houston against whoever the Patriots roll out. But I also like New England at home vs BROCK. Dolphins D $3,000 hosting Cody Kessler in his first game sounds like fun. I will have a ton of exposure to this team.

Alright I'm done. If you want some other Draftkings opinions from someone more intelligent check out what Chiruxin writes and also join the Draftkings DFS Banter chat on the Fantasy Life App, (fantasylifeapp.com) to talk with rational people that tend to do pretty well. Best of luck Week 3.
