For the sake of my well being, I'm going to avoid my Week 9 recap…. Actually wait…. the all in on Antonio Gates call was pretty solid. Alright enough out of you Week 9, let's get to the http://www.korn.com/splash/ -y jokes
DraftKings did me dirty in Week 9, but I was able to find a decent amount of success on FanDuel. I was talking with some people as to why this may be. The answer…. Kickers. Remember that week Adam Vinateri had like 20 points, I was on him. This week Matt Bryant and Cairo Santos both had 15+ points which was nearly doubled Charcandrick West’s point total who the most owned player of the week. So a new addition to the Cheezi DraftKings Outlook, my kicker of the week sponsored by me, someone who used to play soccer for quite a while and likes kickers. #Kickers/PuntersLivesMatter C’mon Marquette King, Pat McAfee, and other fun kickers/punters let's make kicking great again! I think next week the editors are going to request I stop with my intros… sorry Brandon love you man <3
Enough of my silly jokes…Let’s make some https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fabulous_Moolah !
Here is my Week 10 DraftKings Outlook
Jay Cutler ($5,300 @ TB)
We haven’t seen much of Jay Cutler this year so here are some numbers from last year. At home last year, Jay Cutler had a record of 1-7 with a TD:INT ratio of 9:8. On the road, 5-2 with a ratio of 12:3 and averaged 20 more passing yards on the road than at home. Cutler is also 4-0 in his career vs the Buccaneers. I think Alshon Jeffery is finally healthy, also I haven’t even said this yet… Buccaneers rank 29th in DraftKings points allowed to quarterbacks. It sounds ridiculous, but I think Jay Cutler will be my cash game quarterback.
Drew Brees ($6,900 vs DEN)
Here are Drew Brees home point totals this season; 35.42, 29.94, 36.6, 20.7. That red 1st that’s next to his name will hopefully drive his ownership down, and we all saw the Broncos defense is much less intimidating with Aqib Talib on the sideline. Michael Thomas is an emerging star, and Brandin Cooks is great in domes. Love Drew Brees as a GPP play this week.
Carson Wentz ($5,400 vs ATL)
I really like my other two guys and I struggled picking a third quarterback. I went with Carson Wentz because he is facing off against the Falcon who have allowed the most DraftKings points to opposing quarterbacks.
David Johnson ($8,400 vs SF)
Quick flashback to last weeks article… “Here's what RB1s have done to San Francisco: Todd Gurley 18 touches 42 yards 0 TDs, Fozzy Whittaker 19 carries 131 yards 0 TDs, Christine Michael 22 touches 111 yards 2 TDs, Ezekiel Elliott 24 touches 157 yards 1 TD, David Johnson 30 touches 185 yards 2 TDs, LeSean McCoy 20 touches 142 yards 3 TDs, Jacquizz Rodgers 27 touches 163 yards 0 TDs.” Then in Week 9, Mark Ingram (still cursed) and Tim Hightower ran all over the Toronto Argonauts… I mean the San Francisco 49ers. If you make more than a lineup without him, you shouldn’t be playing DFS.
Jay Ajayi ($7,000 @ SD)
Do I think Jay Ajayi is a top 5 running back in the NFL? No of course not. But the Chargers rank 30th in DraftKings points allowed to running backs. Also, best stat of the week… https://twitter.com/apfeifer24/status/795674927332524033 36.7, 31.6, and 25.0 are his last three games DraftKings totals. 26 touches in each of those games. I expect the Dolphins to ride him until he breaks.
Darren Sproles ($4,300 vs ATL)
Breaking News: The coaching staff announced that Darren Sproles is in fact the starting running back. Shocker… He has absolutely dominated the snap count. How has that translated for him? 10 and 15 DraftKings points in the past two weeks. Very not good, but eventually Ryan Mathews and Kenjon Barner will not vulture him. The Falcons rank 25th in DraftKings points allowed to running backs, and in a game the Eagles should be trailing Sproles should be heavily involved in the passing game.
Mike Evans ($9,000 vs CHI)
Welcome back to the main slate, Mr. Evans. Would you like a warm beverage or a massage? Is your head feeling okay? Man I love Mike Evans. He is so good. He had his bye already and leads the NFL in targets by 13. He also leads the NFL in touchdowns. The Bears allow the most DraftKings points to opposing wide receivers. Core players this week: Jay Cutler, David Johnson, Mike Evans, and …
Alshon Jeffery ($6,600 @ TB)
I guess I like this game. The over/under for the game is NA. I read off all the reasons why I love Jay Cutler this week, and Alshon Jeffery has to be a big beneficiary. He is just $6,600. The guy hasn’t had that blow up game this season (just one touchdown) but against the Buccaneers who give up the third most DraftKings points to opposing wide receivers this could be that blow up game.
Jamison Crowder ($5,000 vs MIN)
Not sure what happened to the Vikings, but their defense has been pretty lousy the past few weeks. The Vikings have been especially bad at defending guys over the middle. The past two weeks Golden Tate and Zach Miller have totaled for 18 catches for 167 yards and a score against this Vikings team. Jamison Crowder has scored double digit DraftKings points in all but one game this season. Crowder has seen healthy usage lately so in this lowkey nice matchup, Crowder makes for a nice play.
Travis Kelce ($5,600 @ CAR)
As usual, tight end is a tough position to get some safety. Well here’s the situation… Mini Gronk, 4th worst defense against tight ends, starting wide receiver banged up, angry because he was ejected last week. I like all of these things. It may be tough to fit him in, but he seems like the safest tight end in Week 10.
Jordan Reed ($6,200 vs MIN) Remember that stat I read about Zach Miller and other middle of the field guys against the Vikings? Well that applies here also. Tight ends against the Vikings past two weeks… Eric Ebron 7 catches 92 yards, Zach Miller 7 catches 88 yards. Jordan Reed
could be in for a big game.
Lance Kendricks ($3,000 @ NYJ)
I may be a bit late to the Lance Kendricks party, but he is really starting to see some looks. Back to back games with 7 targets, and if he gets 7 targets against this very below average secondary, he will hit cash value.
Cardinals ($3,700 vs SF)
Doesn’t this feel like a get right game for Arizona? Coming off a bye, hosting Colin Kaepernick. I think so. Correlation play with David Johnson, I really like the Cardinals defense here.
Chiefs ($3,500 @ CAR)
Normally a traveling defense to go up against Cam Newton isn’t a recipe for success. Here is this team’s point totals in dating back (ding) to Week 3: 35, -2, 10, 11, 11, 11. DeAndre Hopkins and Todd Gurley (first round draft picks this season) are both averaging 13 DraftKings points per game. The Chiefs defense, 10.5.
WARNING WARNING HOT TAKE ALERT
Eagles ($2,600 vs ATL)
This is strictly a GPP play. The Eagles D/ST are really good at getting touchdowns. They have 5 games with double digit points. Matt Ryan has been Mr. Perfect http://www.wwe.com/superstars/curthennig this season, and I got a gut feeling the Eagles remind the league Matt Ryan is an average quarterback.
I did really lousy last week in this section, so how will I solve this… Here’s some guys you shouldn’t play:
Quarterback: Nate Sudfield
Running Back: Chase Reynolds
Wide Receiver: Charone Peake
Tight End: Asante Cleveland
Defense: Detroit Lions :)
THE FLEX ZONE (Cheap guys so you can make sure you got DJ in your lineup)
Marquise Lee ($3,900 vs HOU)
Rob Kelley ($3,600 vs MIN)
Brian Quick ($3,700 @ NYJ)
Andre Ellington ($3,500 vs SF)
Ted Ginn Jr. ($3,700 vs KC)
TJ Yeldon ($3,700 vs HOU)
Albert Wilson ($3,300 @ CAR)
Peyton Harber ($3,900 vs CHI)
THE ROAD DOGG JESSE JAMES ($2,700 vs DAL)
Richard Rodgers ($2,800 @ TEN)
And the moment that you have all been waiting for… the Kicker of the week…
CALEB STURGIS vs ATL
Just watch, he is going to go off.
Here is my early cash lineup…
Alright you’ve had enough of me right? Good. Best of luck this week!
