Cheezi Draftkings Outlook Week 8

Written by Matt Perdichizzi, goes by @cheezi on the Fantasy Life App & now @cheezi_FL on Twitter

Week 7 Recap…
None of the three quarterbacks I suggested threw for over 302 yards (Ryan, Bortles, Cousins). All three of my running backs had more than 120 total yards (Murray/Rodgers/Ware). Julio Jones and Anquan Boldin hit value, sadly my other wide receiver was Allen Robinson…… Antonio Gates was second among tight ends in targets and hit value, Gronk was the top tight end, and let’s pretend I didn’t say CJ Uzomah/Tyler Eifert. Also, I definitely didn’t go all in on the Titans defense… The FLEX Zone had a couple of hits in Chris Thompson, Marquise Lee, and Jack Doyle, so all in all a pretty uh, slightly above average week at the office which is ultimately all I could hope for.

Alright guys, it is now Week 8. This means at this point we should have a general idea of what is happening in the NFL. What’s that? You don’t know what’s going on? You didn’t know Jay Ajayi would have back to back 200 yard games? You didn’t know Allen Robinson is bad at football? You didn’t know Case Keenum is terrible? Well that last one is on you…

Enough of my silly jokes…Let’s make some

Ok now I’m done.

Jameis Winston ($5,700 vs OAK)
Jameis Winston has A LOT of things going for him. 1: He has the pleasure of being able to throw jump balls in the end zone to Mike Evans (who is an absolute monster). 2: No team has allowed more passing yards than the Oakland Raiders. 3: He only has one game in his career with single digit fantasy points. 4: This is his girlfriend Winston is a great cash and tournament play. Stack him with Evans.

Aaron Rodgers ($7,500 @ ATL)
Last week, we watched Aaron Rodgers have a game that was, well what we have come to expect from the best quarterback in the NFL. Granted it was against the Chicago Bears, but he did look solid. Now he gets to go play in the Georgia Dome. The Falcons have allowed the 4th most DraftKings points to opposing quarterbacks. Rodgers passing yardage total has risen in each of the past 4 games, and in his career against the Falcons he averages 345 passing yards and has a TD:INT ratio of 9:1.

Matt Ryan ($7,000 vs GB)
I find this price weird. He had a solid game last week, and now has another great matchup, and he dropped $200. How good is this matchup you ask? The Packers have allowed 300 yards or multiple scores to Blake Bortles, Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford. and Dak Prescott. I’d say Matt Ryan is better than these guys, and should be able to hit both these plateaus. Stack him with Julio.

Running Backs

Spencer Ware ($6,800 @ IND)
Spencer Ware has had at least 83 total yards in every game this season. He had 83 against the Jets and topped 95 total yards in every other game. Now he gets the Colts who rank 27th against RBs. Back to back weeks with 4x value, and no signs of Jamaal Charles stealing work, I'll be all in on Ware again this week.

Christine Michael ($7,300 @ NO)
ell, this one is pretty easy. The Saints give up the most fantasy points to RBs. He has three games this season with 20+ DraftKings points. He has 4 straight games with 20+ touches. If he gets 20+ touches against the Saints, it would be bizarre if he doesn't hit 3x value.

Theo Riddick ($5,000 @ HOU)
Remember little Theo? He may play this week! The Texans allow 135 rushing yards per game. Weeks 2-5 Theo not only had his usual 4+ catches and 25+ yards, he also had 10+ rush attempts. So, he's got a nice floor if he plays, and a decent amount of upside with the matchup in Houston in a game that should be sneakily high scoring.

Wide Receivers

Julian Edelman ($6,300 @ BUF)
So let's throw away the game against the Bills earlier this season because Tom Brady wasn't playing. The 4 games Edelman had before that against the Bills: 38 catches, 332 yards, and 4 touchdowns on 51 targets. He hasn't done anything spectacular this year, but I love him in this spot. I like stacking him with Tom Brady here also.

Will Fuller ($6,000 vs DET)
Yes we all just saw Brock Osweiler look like this ---> but hosting the Lions is a great way to right the ship. I know Fuller hasn't looked great, but not many do against the Broncos and Vikings. He still has 6+ targets each game, and the Lions rank 26th in DraftKings points against wide receivers. Not a cash option, but he can easily win you a tournament.

TY Montgomery ($5,300 @ ATL)
This Montgomery kid has something good going for him… he's playing running back. He has back to back 10 reception games, and he likely will reach that number again. He also had 60 rushing yards last week. He probably won't hit 6x or 7x value like he has the past two weeks, but he's got a solid matchup. The Falcons rank 28th in fantasy points allowed to running backs and Montgomery is now a running back! (Not according to DraftKings though). I don't love writing about a QB and WR from the same team, but you gotta roll these guys out together.

Tight Ends

GRONK SMASH ($7,000 @ BUF)
In the three games Gronk has played with Tom Brady here are his totals: 16 catches, 364 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Dude is a monster. If you can afford him, plug him in.

Gary Barnidge ($3,300 vs NYJ)
How about some love for Gary Barnkowski! He is just $3,300 and he's got 3+ catches and 30+ yards in every game since week 2. Not many other tight ends can say that. He's got a floor which no other tight end really has, and the Jets secondary is just putrid.

Cameron Brate ($3,200 vs OAK)
MAKE AMERICA BRATE AGAIN!!!! The Raiders rank 26th against tight ends, and he's got 4.5+ points in every game! If Donald implements Brate into his dumb slogan he could get my vote.

Chiefs ($2,800 @ IND)
This is crazy. A defense that averages double digit fantasy points per game under $3,000. Not only that, they get Andrew Luck, who well I think I've streamed against every week this season.

Seahawks ($3,000 @ NO)
Saints at home blah blah blah. Chances are this game is high scoring, which means plenty of opportunities for the Legion of Boom to intercept Drew Brees which is certainly possible. I expect a very low ownership because of the matchup so Seahawks make for an excellent tournament option.

Browns ($2,500 vs. NYJ)
Look, they're terrible, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is also terrible. He had a game with 6 interceptions this year and is somehow still employed. This is another tournament only option, but the Jets give up most points to opposing defenses so there is upside here. One pick six and you're golden.

THE FLEX ZONE (10 4k and below guys to save you some money for GRONK SMASH)

Devontae Booker ($3,700 vs SD)
Russell Shepard ($3,300 vs OAK)
Reggie Bush ($3,300 vs NE)
Chester Rogers ($3,200 vs KC)
Don Jackson ($3,300 @ ATL)
Jermaine Kearse ($3,100 @ NO)
Antonio Gates ($2,700 @ DEN)
Marquise Goodwin ($3,600 vs NE)
FOZZY BEAR (Fozzy Whittaker) ($3,600 vs ARI)
CJ Fiedorowicz ($2,800 vs DET)

Buyer Beware

Cam Newton ($7,400 vs ARI)
Arizona ranks 6th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, and in Cam’s 2 career regular season games against the Cardinals, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Mark Ingram ($5,000 vs SEA)
Not only he's CURSED, Ingram also has to play the Seahawks which is never a good thing. Additionally, Theo Riddick is the same price.

Dez Bryant ($7,100 vs PHI)
I believe he finally stops being a baby and plays. I'd say there's a 3% chance he gets 2x value. In the three games he did play this season, he hit 2x once. No chance I'll roster him in this very run first offense.

Jack Doyle ($3,500 vs KC)
I love Jack Doyle because why not. Don't love this price or the matchup with the Chiefs who lockdown tight ends.

Broncos ($3,700 vs SD)
Philip Rivers has this trait of being able to put up numbers against defenses that he really shouldn't be able to.
